Content is King! Google Panda is in Australia
Unless you have been living under a rock you would no doubt be aware of Google’s well publicized Google panda update. It hit the Australian search engine results on the 1st of April and is possibly causing some headaches for some website owners.
All it has done is leveled the playing field. Panda should be embraced as it has brought quality back to Google. If you have been affected, now is the time to roll up your sleeves and start developing high quality content.
You should also be looking for quality sites to link to yours. Some of you current backlinks may have been hit hard by the Panda update which could directly affect your positions also.
Important things to remember about Panda
- Avoid using the same keywords for backlinks – vary them. Google will not believe your website if 100% of your links have the same anchor text, it doesn’t look natural.
- Don’t use automated software to gain links. It can be unpredictable and not very well received if you your site is sending through comments to blogs – No one likes poorly written comment spam.
- Avoid article marking. Once very big in SEO, article marking post-panda is not very affective. As the articles get shared around the internet, their quality decreases. You are better of developing your own sites and blogs.
- Don’t link to sites that are not related to you. Better to have one link from a site related to your keywords than 10,000+ links from a completely irrelevant site.
So there you have it. If your has dropped back a bit, it is time to look at new strategies. But the first step it to review your content and make sure it up to standard. Read it through as if you were a visitor to your site.
